    Vinegar Obsession

If you know me, you know that I don’t really clean around the house. My mom does the cleaning and she does it very well. I can’t seem to do it like she does and she would say “That’s because you don’t do it properly.” A couple of week back, she was attending training everyday and I was left in the house with dogs to look after. I had to clean up after every one, and I had to get rid of the smell, the cleaning agents we buy in the supermarket don’t really work so I googled for DIY home remedies because I know sometimes you don’t need the…

    1st Blog Anniversary Giveaway

I have been blogging since 2005 but because I kept switching from one hosting service to another, I lost my archive along the way. The last was when my host shut down without any prior notice and never answered any of our (the clients) e-mails. Last year, I decided to open my blog in blogger.com and last week was its 1st anniversary. I wanted to host a giveaway since last month, because it was my birthday but I couldn’t think of what I could afford to give out as a prize. Finally, for my blog’s anniversary, a friend is willing to sponsor an Avengers-inspired t-shirt from Paper Toss Designs. Check…

Book Review: Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

Demonglass is where things get more interesting. I liked this more than the first book. A lot of things happened and the romance part made me giddy. Secrets were also revealed, things I didn’t expect. Read my review after the jump. Beware, spoilers ahead.   Demonglass (Hex Hall #2) by Rachel Hawkins Add to Goodreads Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch. That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (a.k.a. witches, shape-shifters, and faeries). But then she discovered the family secret, and the fact that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium…

Book Review: Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

One of my new year’s resolution is to read more books but every month, I fail to read anything. A few weeks back I started reading Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. It had an interesting plot and once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. One way a fan described the book is it’s like Harry Potter and Mean Girls got married and had a kid. The school and the classes it offered is similar with Hogwarts in some ways, even some parts of the story reminded me of Chamber of Secrets. Spoilers ahead. Hex Hall (Hex Hall #1) by Rachel Hawkins Add to Goodreads Three years ago, Sophie…

    Tito Maxim’s 50th Birthday

One of my mom’s best friends, tito Maxim, celebrated his 50th birthday last Saturday in Los Baños, Laguna. It was held in Gracious Garden Resort inside Park Merced. The event was scheduled from afternoon till evening but we went in the evening because we can’t leave the house early. When we got there, children were already swimming and there’s a group of people using the videoke machine. I wanted to sing but didn’t get the chance to. Hahaha! The party was catered, I forgot by whom, but there were so many food to choose from. Letchong baboy Fish fillet Since we don’t eat pork, I only ate the chicken barbecue, fish…

    An Update on my Life

After joining a blogger’s group in Facebook, I kinda felt obligated to post about things that people would normally be interested in like food or restaurant review, movies, and other forms of entertainment. But then I remembered that this blog is for my interests, my experiences, my life. Someone told me, “Why not write in a journal? No one is interested to read about your life.” The thing is, I’m not writing about my emotions or thoughts or secrets, I have real life friends who I could share those with. I don’t need a diary, I am an open book. One of the reasons I blog is to help me remember…
