    17/52 They like water too!

The summer heat is affecting everyone. Mom and I take a shower more than twice a day just to feel refreshed, and the dogs take a dip in their tub to cool off. How cute is that? For week 17: April 22-28, 2012 If you want to see more pictures and videos of my dogs swimming, then click here.

    16/52 Precious little thing

The highlight of my week was the car accident but I’d rather not focus on such an unfortunate event that I chose this one instead. For week 16: April 15-21, 2012 This is Kylie’s first born from her second batch of puppies. She doesn’t have a name yet so I call her puppy1 no-name when writing/posting about her. In real life, I call all of them “baby”. 😀 A few weeks after they were born, I noticed this puppy had eye boogers all the time. I would clean it with wet cotton buds. Last week, I was able to open her eyes fully and saw that there’s a hole in it.…

Chewy No-bake Cookies & Cream Bars

Browsing through Pinterest, I found a lot of no-bake recipes, most of them desserts of course. I wanted to try something really easy and found this recipe for chewy no-bake cookies & cream bars. Looks good, right? Ingredients: 1 (16-ounce) package of Oreo cookies5 cups (1 bag) of large marshmallows4 tablespoons butter Direction:Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with aluminum foil, allowing the foil to hang over the edges, and set aside. Place Oreo cookies in food processor (or crush in a large Ziploc bag with a rolling pin) and pulse until crumbly, but not ground. Melt marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl until puffy, about 1 1/2 to…

Get out of the house, get involved in a car accident

I haven’t gone out of the house in weeks because I didn’t have any plans and the weather was so hot, I didn’t feel like making plans or go anywhere. I was scheduled for a job interview somewhere in Libis last Tuesday afternoon. Libis, so far from where I live, I know. That story is reserved for another day. Mom gave me 1.1k before I left, she gave me 200 the day before. I left the house 2 hours before my scheduled interview, gassed up 1k to be sure I won’t run out and gas is cheaper here than in the city. I was 5 minutes away from my destination…

    15/52 More sleeping puppies

Another lazy week went by and I spent it watching Dexter, Last Man Standing, and Nurse Jackie. Hi I’m Nickle and I’m a TV series junkie. For week 15: April 8-14 I was supposed to go with my mom to meet with a long lost friend last Saturday but I couldn’t leave the dogs alone in the house because Cyndi was due to give birth soon. Found Kylie’s little girls sleeping on the first floor of the shelf. So precious.

Making Dinner: Pre-made Meatballs in Cream of Mushroom

Cooking is not my strong suit. I can make what I call “cheat dish”, pre-made food cooked with some sauce, or basic Filipino dishes like sinigang, tinola or anything fried. I never learned how to cook because there’s no one to cook for. If I cooked something, I’ll end up eating it for lunch and dinner for 2-3 days because I was often alone in the house. I tried learning to cook a few times, my mom also taught me how to make adobo, but it tasted different. She bought a big bottle of teriyaki sauce and told me to heat some pre-made meatballs, add teriyaki sauce, sprinkle some salt and…

    14/52 Sleeping puppies

Last week has been uneventful due to Holy Week, aside from that, the weather has been really hot so I opted to stay indoors and catch up on some movies and TV series. The dogs chose to sleep most of the time, it was indeed a lazy week. For week 14: April 1-7 3 of Kylie’s pupsTop: Gwen; Under: Spotty; On top: Daphne Gwen goes to a friend of mom’s and the name is the same from her dog that died. Spotty is a temporary name, a name we also gave Damon before we decided to keep and name him. We decided to keep the other spotted female pup because…

The Fashion Academy Manila Summer Workshop Open House

The Fashion Academy Manila had an open house/free workshop last March 31 and Angela and I signed up for it. They are offering the following classes: singing, dancing, acting, photography, makeup, hair, personality enhancement, modeling, and fashion styling. I didn’t know if we were allowed to sign up for more than one class so I sent a text message asking if I could attend makeup and fashion styling while Angela wanted to attend acting and modeling classes. I was sent a schedule for the classes we signed up for and was informed to be there before 2pm. On the day itself, I picked up Angela at our usual meeting place…

    Movie Marathon Batch 2

This is the 2nd batch of my movie marathon for the month of march. Picking up from where we left off, I remembered to download The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. I remember some people saying it was lame and Nicholas Cage looks crazy. I liked it. Jay Baruchel isn’t my favorite actor, his face annoys me, but I think he’s good for the role. Maybe I liked this movie because I’m into anything fantasy fiction. Another thing I liked here is Teresa Palmer. I wonder, though, if the soundtrack for this film only has one song because Secrets by One Republic played 3 times in 3 different scenes. It was funny. When…

    The Water Diet

The weather has been so hot lately that I wake up covered with sweat and take showers 2-3 times a day. If we humans feel the heat, then the dogs have it worse. A while back, I wrote about some of my dogs soaking in water, and here’s a more recent one of MJ, getting inside a basin of water. The water diet isn’t really a diet, it’s just because I’ve been drinking so much cold water that I get full and end up eating once a day, or not at all. But that’s not entirely good, I don’t think it helps with losing weight, does it? If I’m not mistaken,…
